Who is Jesus?

This question was very hard for me to answer two years ago.

I had no interest in learning who Jesus was or why people were mentioning him so fondly at church. I was insecure with how little I knew, so I pushed faith and the Bible away.

I didn't sing at church. I didn't feel like fitting in with the crowd. I didn't understand.

I would listen to my pastor speak about Jesus and how great of a man He is. Why? I thought to myself. Why would God sacrifice his only son to die on the cross for our sins?

It's not that it was bad that I had these questions, I believe that everyone has the same questions, believer and unbeliever. I just didn't take the time to learn and understand myself. I judged those because I was scared if I were to commit, that I would have an unfulfilling life. I thought that being a good person was the only thing I needed to do.

I was wrong.

Meeting a group of faithful friends changed my life.

Their prayer was not scripted, it wasn't bland– I felt the Holy Spirit speak out of their mouths with the Lord's wisdom and love.

At that moment, I knew I was missing something and longed to have it.

I wasn't judging anymore, I wasn't insecure anymore, I was inspired and motivated by the people who were saved and walked with the Lord.

In the end we're all imperfect and need a savior. In each one of us lies the Holy Spirit who connects with our Father in Heaven.

It's up to us to choose to walk in the light of Jesus.

I started to read God's word and opened myself up to Him to save me.

I felt God fill my soul with the fruits of the spirit. I changed how I talked, how I perceived other people, how I perceived myself, and what I was searching for.

Having Jesus close in my life, opened my eyes, showing me how sinful this world is.

I was no longer lost, I was found, God found me.

I now look back on how I was two years ago. My goals weren't aligned well, my interests were unfulfilling, and I was a follower of the world.

I can now confidently say how grateful I am to have Jesus in my life.

Now that I have gotten to the point of knowing who Jesus is and what He has done in my life, all I want to do is grow His kingdom.

I am saddened by all the people in this world who are wasting potential by following the world instead of what God designed them to be.

I was once lost, but now I am found. My turn to praise God and show people how amazing He actually is.
